The article presents the calculation of the stopping brake retention guarantee for an innovative gondola car with a load of 27 tons from the wheelset to the rail. When checking the stopping brake retention guarantee, a brake calculation was made, according to which it is possible to determine if the braking equipment of the innovative gondola car with a load of 25 tons from the wheelset to the rail is suitable for use in an innovative gondola car with a load of 27 tons from the wheelset to the rail. On the basis of which it was concluded that the stopping brake retention guarantee on the standardized down grade of the innovative gondola car with a 27 t load from the wheelset on the rail in the loaded state (the most severe operation mode of the brakes) using the brake lever and the stopping brake from the innovative gondola car with a 25 t load from the wheelset to the rail corresponds to the required norms, provided the stopping brakes are installed on both the trolleys. As a result, partial unification of the brake lever transmission and stopping brake of gondola cars with the 25 t and 27 t load from the wheelset to the rail is possible. In order to ensure the safety of movement on the brakes of innovative gondola cars with a load of 27 tons from the wheelset to the rail, it is recommended, before deciding on the organization of their serial production, to carry out additional brake tests of the pilot batch of these gondola cars with respect to the use of stopping brakes of different designs with the practicing of the proposed measures.
