Аннотация: 

The article deals with the problems of reliability of the mechanical part during the operation of electric locomotives of the Ermak series. The subject of the study is the mechanical part of the electric locomotive of the "Ermak" series – the gear transmission casing (GTC) in metal version. The location of the gear transmission casing on the locomotive determines its operating conditions, under which a high level of external loads is inevitable. One of the main parameters that determine the technical condition of the casing is the integrity of the surface of the gear transmission casing. Analysis of the damage to the components of the gear transmission casing has shown that their maximum number is due to the formation of cracks in the casing attachment points to the brackets of the traction motor frame that can result in partial or complete destruction of the gear transmission casing and damage to the wheel-motor unit as a whole. In case of cracks on the casing surface, it is sent to an unscheduled repair. In the course of the studies, the authors obtained patterns of stress distribution on the surface of the casing near the attachment site. To prevent the formation of cracks on the gear transmission casing, various variants of modification of the modified attachment assemblies of the GTC were proposed, which were subjected to the evaluation of the stressed state. Based on the results of the evaluation of the GTC stressed state, the optimal version of the casing attachment assembly was chosen, which will allow reducing the number of unplanned repairs and increasing the reliability of the rolling stock as a whole. The article is of interest to specialists in the field of repair and maintenance of the mechanical part of the rolling stock of railways.
