Аннотация: 

The article deals with the data on the analysis of the reliability of the equipment of electric locomotives in recent years. The analysis of statistics on equipment failures of electric locomotives indicates that, in the current operating conditions of traction rolling stock power equipment on the railways of the Eastern polygon, there is a decrease in the reliability of this equipment. The bulk of the equipment failures accounts for electrical machines, traction and auxiliary ones. Analyzing the statistics, it was revealed that the main reason for power equipment failure is insulation fault, mainly due to over-humidifying. For the time being, various methods, ways and means of drying of the humidified isolation of windings of electric equipment are suggested to solve the above-mentioned problems. In this regard, to date, the convective method of drying wet insulation of electric machines based on the use of mobile and stationary electric calorific plants has become widespread. Analysis of the design features of these plants highlighted significant shortcomings, from the resource-saving perspectives. In order to solve this problem, an amplitude-width-intermittent method of energy supply in the process of drying the moistened insulation of traction engines of locomotives was proposed, which significantly improves the energy efficiency of these plants. The proposed method for controlling the electric calofiric installation USD-92 at the software level is carried out by certain specified cycles, each of which performs certain functions.
