INCREASING THE RELIABILITY OF INSULATING FINGERS OF BRUSH HOLDER BRACKETS OF ELECTRIC MACHINES OF TRACTION ROLLING STOCK

Аннотация: 

This article is aimed at solving current problems related to increasing the reliability of traction rolling stock as a whole. In particular, the article deals with issues related to the repair and restoration of the insulating fingers of the brackets of the brush holders of electric machines of traction rolling stock. The analysis of statistical data on finger failures of the brackets of the brush holders of electric machines showed that their refusals from the total number are of the order of 30% and grow annually. The article considers the main reasons for the failure of the fingers of the brackets of the brush holders of electrical machines are associated with the presence of gas inclusions between the solid dielectric and the metal, the accumulation of volumetric electrical charges on the side surface of the finger, and the negative effect of moistened dust between the current-carrying terminal and the traverse.

The ways of solving the problem of low reliability of the fingers of the brackets of the brush holders of electric machines are presented on the basis of increasing the surface electric strength and tracking stability, taking into account the conditions for the emergence of cracks in the technologies for manufacturing and restoring parts from polymeric materials.The technology of manufacturing and repairing the fingers of the brackets for the brush holders of electric machines is considered, and the weakest aspects are revealed.

As an improvement of the technology of repair and restoration of the fingers of the brackets of the brush holders of electric machines, it is proposed to use new methods based on the use of thermal radiation energy.
