Аннотация: 

The work is based on an analysis of the operational work of the Krasnoyarsk and East-Siberian railways. Analyzing the cases of empty rolling stock derailment, it was found that, for the most part, derailments occur inside the curve. Analysis of convergence made it possible to establish the parameters of the track and rolling stock that have a significant impact on the railcar derailments in straight and curvilinear sections of the track of a large radius. When an empty railcar moves, a shock impact occurs at the point of contact between the wheel and the rail, which causes the emergence of a single peak. The paper considers the pulse system acting on a railcar with oscillations of sprung and unsprung masses. It proposes a procedure for calculating the impact force (pulse effect) using mathematical modeling. The forces of impact nature, which can cause the wheel of empty rolling stock to mount onto the rail head, are determined.
