DEFINITION OF THE LIMITING DIFFERENCE IN THE DIAMETERS OF TYRES FOR ONE WHEEL PAIR OF THE ELECTRIC TRAIN MOTOR CAR

Abstract: 

The article provides the developed definition technique in operation of a limit difference in the diameters of tyres at one wheel pair of motor cars of electric trains of the ED, ER and ET series of Nizhny Tagil and Perm-2 depots. It is shown that the value of a limit difference in the diameters can differ considerably and depends on real operating conditions. Inequality in the diameters of tape lines both in one wheel pair and in all wheel pairs under a rolling stock unit has significant effect on their distortion concerning an axis of a rail gage. The bogey becomes «destabilized». In most cases, the reason of the intensive wear of the ridged part of the tyres is slipping of wheel pairs as a result of their creeping and (or) sliding concerning a rail. Process of creeping and sliding inevitably involve intensive wear of the ridged part of the tape line of wheel pairs of the multiple unit trains and rails. In most multiple unit depots that repair electric trains, the difference in the diameters of wheels of one wheel pair of the motor car is evaluated by thickness of their tyres, which is incorrect. For one wheel pair, the difference in diameters of the tyres of the motor car of an electric train isn't standardized. Using the developed technique, it is possible to calculate a limit difference in operation in the diameters of wheels in one wheel pair and for other types of rolling stock (passenger and freight cars, multiple unit trains, railway handcars, etc.) and series of the rolling stock. It is necessary to control the size of a difference of diameter of tyres and not to allow going above the established limiting value.
